You heard it here, maybe not for the first time or for the last, but humans are social animals. Ask anyone close with me and they'll tell you I'm quite "to myself", I'm comfortable being alone and doing things solo.
Today was an absolutely lovely day. Currently sitting here at my desk with the window open, birds singing, sun just past the horizon and blue hour closing in. I've got the song "You Take Me Up" by Thompson Twins playing on vinyl, and I'm just in a really great mood.
Just earlier Sam Hargreaves came round and we went out to some nearby fields to film some promo videos for some songs of mine. You must understand that I'm normally very reserved when it comes to asking for others' help with my music, especially when it comes to promotion stuff. I just get a little awkward with it. But I'm getting better. Sam's become my dedicated camera man, he helped me film a whole music video back in January, so that's cool.
But yeah, I just feel really happy and grateful for a friend like him, because he understands my vision, and the more shoots we do together, the more we click. Furthermore, on Saturday I've got Mimi coming round to help me film some more stuff. Obviously that's not all she'll be coming round for hahahha.
but no yeah that's breaking even more ground. Cos I've never shared the music side of my life with anyone im with romantically before. For some reason I just keep the two seperate, like I'm two different people. But I feel like it's time I broke that, and fused the two. So I'm looking forward to that. I feel like it'll strengthen our relationship, genuinely. Because music and (the things I do behind the scenes to make my music career an actual possibility) is such a massive part of my life, and so is she, so the two need an introduction.
I guess if I'm reading back through this in the future, the message I want to archive here is that TRUST PEOPLE MAN!!!! People are cooler than yout think, and people you're close to understand you more than you think, and they're willing to help you. There's a reason they're close to you after all!!
Obviously there's nothing wrong with being introverted. In psychology I actually learned that introversion/extraversion is simply down to a different "sensitivity" level setting thing in the brain. Like, if you're introverted, you're brain is very sensitive to social situations, and so you don't a lot of them to keep it satisfied. if that makes sense. It's an actual chemistry thing.
Point is, just because i'm an introverted person doesn't mean I have to ALWAYS face it alone. It's cool to do things I wouldn't normally do, and go out my comfort zone a bit. I reckon it's also really important for extraverts to do the equivalent, to go on a long walk alone every once in a while or something. That way we become well rounded humans init.
Just kinda thought dumping here that's all. Point is: it's been a good day, and I'm impressed with myself. And the videos we got were sick and I'm looking forward to editing them soon.
