Okay so Friday Saturday and Sunday have been super busy days and I wanna quickly catch up on what happened but I won't go into detail because I'm just knackered.
FRIDAY: 2nd Knutmo Five gig
The first one was at the end of Janurary. K5 is a band I drum in, and this was our 2nd gig (our 2nd headliner too), this time at Off The Square in Manchester (March 27th 2026)
General thoughts: had a great time, was very fun. Was also very stressful, there were a lot of moving parts to what we were doing. Alfie's new girlfriend was at the show and I think he was a bit distracted by that so it felt like I had to carry things a bit, like I was rushing around setting up the merch stand while he was just chilling. Fair enough, he's just gotten into a relationship and I'm very very happy for him, but doesn't I didn't feel totally wired that night. It's not the first time that it's been like that were alfie kind of unconciously lets me do stuff because he thinks i can handle it all myself. i can, but it doesn't mean I want to... Sometimes I feel like I contribute too much and like I'm the one in charge, when the whole reason I decided to join was to just be a player in the team, not the leader.
Overall, a really fun night, and it was a pleasure to be onstage alongside two of my closest friends.
^^^Guy with his hands up is called Leeto, an old online friend of mine from about 4 years ago. We used to play minecraft together back in the day. It was really nice of him to come to the show and it was great to meet him face to face after all these years!
SATURDAY: 3rd Dorset Caravan gig
Ollie (guitarist in K5) has his own band called Dorset Caravan, they played their third gig at Dead Wax in Birmingham on Mar 28th.
General thoughts: their best show yet, can't wait til the next one. It was really nice to go there with Mimi (my girlfriend), because we actually met at the 2nd Dorset caravan show back in December. We had a great night hanging out with Ollie and the band before the gig, getting pleasantly tipsy, and afterwards we drank some more and headed back to her place.
Overall, an even more fun night than before, because I had no responsibilities other than to show up to the gig and have a good time. Probably the best evening I've had in a long while. Wish I could go into detail more but I just can't be bothered right now.

SUNDAY: Mimi's party
Last week it was Mimi's actual 18th birthday, but this week she was hosting a party at her house with a bunch of her mates, and I was invited too, since I'm her boyfriend and she wanted to properly introduce me to her friends.
General thoughts: very fun night, I love the fact that everyone really dressed up for it. Started out a bit awkwardly when it was a few people who came early (awkward because I'm awkward), but as soon as the main crowd came round I was able to speak to everyone and I'm proud I managed to socialise as much as I did. The alcohol helped. My favourite person I met that night was this guy called Ernest, fairly shy guy but once I started speaking to him we instantly bonded over electronic music and synths. His granddad has an original Korg MS-20 from the 70s! As soon as he told me that I thought to myself okay I NEED to befriend this guy and have a go on that korg. Joking of course, I would want to hang out with him regardless of whether he has access to any vintage synths or not.
Overall, a great night and a good test of my social skills. Definitely glad this is the last big social event I'm attending for at least a few days though. I think i'll lock myself in my room for a few days and just chill.
